Early morning, Constitution Dock, Hobart, Tasmania.
I was out and about first thing the morning this shot was taken, and the near freezing and still morning air made for a bracing start to the day. I was still a bit shattered because I had just arrived in Hobart the evening before, having completed a drive down the East Coast from Launceston. For this photo, conditions were absolutely crystal clear, and with strong sunlight on the subject, and little scattered light, the image is full of contrast. These strong light photos with full intensity colors seem to reproduce so well. I loved the area around Constitution Dock, and its great heritage. The place must really jump when the Sydney Hobart racing yachts arrive here. I stayed just up the road at the Old Woolstore hotel where the studio apartment accommodation was excellent. Look for the top of Mt Wellington poking up in the distance. I drove up there later. Geez it was cold.
Nifty Nev
